sexy superheroines

I've done so many of these,I felt that, rather than lumping them in with my other superhero pics, they should get their own post...so...what does happen when the costumes...for whatever reason...come off?

"not yet oracle"...when I first posted this on Deviantart, somebody commented that
I should increase Barbara's humiliation by making her more exposed...as in,strip her.
While I didn't want to re-do this piece,I did like the idea...

...so I did this,"not yet oracle 2",keeping the retro-style but switching from
the 1960's to the 70's,as well as still illustrating the somewhat unsettling
possible consequences of pursuing the life of a crime-fighter.

Namely, some day one of your arch-enemies may decide that they want
the whole world to see what your ass looks like.

"rednow woman"...inspired by Robot Chicken's reverse-Wonder-Woman vignette.

"comics code be damned"...uhh...actually,
this is pretty self-explanatory.

"eve,destruction"...born out of an afternoon of flipping through two
very different comics...Kamandi,The Last Boy On Earth, and Barbarella
...with a little I Am Legend thrown in.

"beware the mind of Dr.Psycho"...for those of us who don't have
wardrobe-destroying power rings.

"cobra of the month"...well,how did you think all those
supervillian organizations got guys to be their soldiers?

"wedgied wonder"

I guess I should've mentioned that this collection is also of women
associated with superheroes.
This piece--"the harpy is born"--is a re-interpretation of a panel from
The Incredible Hulk,Vol.1,#168,the October '73 issue,"The Hate Of The Harpy".

This is also from that issue, and it inspired this...

I call this one "prelude to the harpy's birth".
Below are the two panels.

"gothamites are oblivious"
Inspired by a Bruce Timm-illustrated Batgirl story where, while shopping in a
department store during the holidays,Barbara Gordon sees the villainous Clayface
trying to rob the place,so she ducks into the nearest dressing room and changes
to Batgirl.
Maybe I should be more specific...this was actually inspired by another work by Timm,
an alternate version where Barbara, after being unable to find a place to change, decides
to just strip down and don her costume right smack-dab in the middle of a fleeing crowd,
presumably to preoccupied with their own self-preservation to notice the naked
redhead in their midst. The art I just described is in black and white and only has
implied nudity.
Needless to say,I was inspired.

As I was posting my latest Bruce Timm-inspired piece, about eight pictures
down,it occurred to me that I could post the artwork that inspired the above
work...so here it is!

This piece, belles of freedom, was created specifically for a contest on
DeviantArt...depicted here are three characters from Marvel Comics,
from left to right,Sharon Carter,Jennifer Walters a.k.a. She-Hulk and
Maria Hill of SHIELD.

"the death of doctor light"...forget pulling on Superman's cape, here's
something more dangerous to attempt.
Also featured here is a certain superhero's wife whom he didn't get to
assault,at least not in this version.

"before she spun around"
...proving that some costume-changing methods
don't work for everybody.

"gonna reach out and grab ya"
Once more,I'm drawing from artist Bruce Timm
for visual inspiration.

Kinda makes you wonder why supervillians
don't do this more often, doesn't it?

"bishop to bodystocking"
A radical reinterpretation of the first issue of
Justice League Of America (October 1960).

I suppose one could point out how strange it is that Despero chose
to do this on a day when there weren't any men at JLA headquarters.

"tiara not required"

"okay,maybe they're not!"

A sort-of follow-up/alternate to my gothamites are
oblivious piece up there.

"okay,maybe they aren't!"

Yet still another alternate version.

"okay,maybe they ain't!"

...and yet still another, albeit one with a grammatically
incorrect title.

"they blinded her with science"

Based on one of the plotlines in DC's 2006 miniseries 52...in particular,
Will Magnus, creator of the Metal Men,finds himself on a island where a
group of scientist supervillains, mostly obscure ones from the Silver Age,
but including Dr. Sivana and T.O. Morrow have been assembled to create
a quartet of deadly superandroids. When the Justice Society Of America storms
the island, one of the scientists reveals his plan to use his supposedly
infallible hypnosis-inducing goggles on JSA member Power Girl. Not
surprisingly,they don't work.

....but what if they had?

"she picked the wrong roof"

"she likes kryptonians"

"bab's underwear dissolves"

Created from a still from the home-video animated version of
Batman:The Killing Joke.

No,I didn't do the above...it's actually by illustrator
Kerry Callen...but it did inspire me to create this...

...which I call "keeping abreast of trouble".

"honor guard locker room"

From the Astro City books, four members of the premiere superhero
group Honor Guard...from left to right Winged Victory,Quarrel,Cleopatra
and the Barbie-dollesque android Beautie...all literally
caught with their pants down.

"pretty little mary"

From DC's Multiversity miniseries, which featured a collection of
alternate-universe Dr. Sivanas banding together; one of which was
a Hannibal-Lecter-type,who seemed to have an unhealthy obsession
with superheroine Mary Marvel.

"personal space,private parts"

Yet another venture into Bruce Timm territory,as is
the piece below.

"beware my f-cking POWER!!!"

What many of us wanted to see Guy Gardner
do with his power ring.

"pushed way too far"

A radical re-interpretation of the confrontation between the two Dr. Lights...
the villainous and deceased Arthur Light, brought back to existence by the
Blackest Night, and the superheroine Kimiyo Hoshi.
This occurred during DC Comics' Blackest Night miniseries,as depicted in
Justice League Of America,Vol. 2, #40 (Feb. 2010) "Reunion,Part Two".

Yes,she did blast off the last of her clothes in the story.

Sex...humor magazine style!

As kids, looking at something like Playboy is definitely out of the question, and if you're lucky, you may stumble across a National Lampoon with a Foto Funnies that features female nudity. Some of us weren't always that lucky...obviously,I'm addressing a specific generation here, the one that didn't have the benefit of near-nudity on network television...fortunately,there was MAD...and CRACKED...there was also SICK,with Cher D'Flower, but that's another post.Anyway, here goes...

From The VooDoo MAD,a paperback collection of material, were I
to venture a guess, from the late 50's/early 60's.The article this little
piece of ass worship comes from is Miracle Fabrics.

From the same article.
Amazing how all those guys just appeared behind her...

From CRACKED #115,March '73,The Cracked Manual
For Good Photography.

Should we even ask if there's a reason the little girl is
dropping her pants in what appears to be the living room?

A creative alteration of the above panel I
just had to include.

From MAD #162,October '73,Old Standards Re-Written
For The Liberated Woman.
Early CFNM,I guess.

CRACKED...I'm afraid I don't know the issue or year,but I do remember
it's from a John Severin-illustrated piece expanding the concept from the
Planet Of The Apes movies,as in:what if there were other worlds where
other animals were dominant over man?

MAD #132,January '70,The Academy Awards Show We'd Like To See.
In case you're wondering, nudity was just starting to appear in
mainstream Hollywood movies at the time.

An enlarged, slightly altered panel from above,
with Vanessa in all her glory.

The final panel from the above-mentioned article.

MAD # 145,September '71,Greeting Cards
For The Sexual Revolution.

I guess they hadn't started calling it "pornography" yet.

From MAD,specifically from Dave Berg's "Lighter Side"...possibly
of "Surprises" (I don't know the issue).
The fiancee certainly has an interesting interpretation of "old-fashioned".

Also from MAD,and once again I don't know which issue, although the
article was clearly some A-Z compendium of rhymed insults directed
at then-current celebrities.
I'm no fan of McCarthy, never have been, but hey...
an attractive ass is an attractive ass!

The Mad Guide To Political Types
illustration by George Woodbridge of New Left Extremists who,in addition to
distrusting Nixon, bringing jars of peanut butter as housewarming gifts, and moving
their belongings in wheelbarrows, participate in nude weddings.

Bizarre decade,the seventies.

CRACKED Looks At The World Of Superdom

....funny cartoons about superheroes,in case you don't know
what "superdom" means...here,not-Diana Prince apparently
can't do the whole spinning-around/lasso-thing costume change
that the superheroine she's obviously modeled on can do
....and stripping in public isn't a desirable option for her...

CRACKED 's iconic reporter Nanny Dickering, illustrated
not by Bill Ward (who frequently depicted her) but by Sururi Gumen,
another of their regular artists...he also did
the monster-movie bit up there.

The following is from National Lampoon,
specifically the October 1974 issue.
